Background / HistoryThe Brussels chapter of MCEI was the first chapter founded outside USA in 1957, by Paul Genton, our present international chairman. It brings together 100 professionals in marketing and communications services with leaders of the business community. MCEI operates as a non profit organization and dynamism depends on board member's commitment to their project. The chapter has a support office in charge of all administrative matters. The Brussels chapter's ambition is to be the preferred marketing association in terms of dynamism, quality of the presentations, empathy among the members, international scope. ActivitiesThe core activity of MCEI Brussels is a monthly business lunch at the Brussels' Hilton , where our association meets to make new contacts, exchange ideas while listening to an interesting speech. Our members are frequently invited to social events and benefit from advantages MCEI members offer each other. Our chapter has decided to develop new activities toward the new generations & students. Our chapter members also participate in the MCEI international activities, such as international congresses, the marketing award , ... MeetingsMCEI's monthly business lunches take place at the Hilton , Boulevard the Waterloo in Brussels, usually the last Monday of each month (except during summer). Marketing ExcellenceMCEI Belgium participate to the MCEI Marketing Excellence Award which recognizes outstanding local innovations in marketing & communications. Results 2003 will be announced end of this year GovernanceThe general assembly consists of all associated members and is the authority of the chapter (founders+ co-opted); supporting members don't vote. The elected board of directors runs the daily activities and budget. An updating of our statutes will take place in 2004 to ensure it matches current challenges and new regulations. MembershipTo become a support-member, candidates are asked to apply with an ad-hoc form. Each application has to be agreed by the board.
