It was a very special occasion, marked by the welcome attendance of Gracie Beiner, from Geneva, who, on behalf of MCEI International, confirmed our official status within the MCEI global family. Gracie presented our members with their official lapel pins, now worn with pride, and delivered a passionate history of MCEI and its core values. She also presented the Liverpool chapter president, Alan Kneale, with an inaugural plaque to commemorate this new addition to the MCEI club. Gracie had a chance to see Liverpool as it finally prepares for 2008 - European capital of culture. Most of the chapter members are Liverpool born and bred, and the activities associated with this event are making business life very exciting at this time. A presentation is scheduled to receive an update on final plans, and initiatives to promote business opportunities. Also scheduled is a presentation from Paul Stimpson, head of bank security at ABN AMRO in London. Membership of the Liverpool chapter is growing steadily, and currently covers a wide selection of business interests - tourism, pharmaceuticals, headhunting, engineering, finance, maritime, events, coaching, R&D etc. The next meeting of the Liverpool chapter will be on 17 May, 2007, at 7.30 pm at the Racquets Club. |
