Background

MCEI (Marketing Communications Executives International) Seattle is a 501(c)(6) organization whose members are leading marketing and communications professionals in the Puget Sound area.

Membership

Membership is by application and subject to approval by a majority vote of the Board of Directors. A business or corporation is not eligible for membership; all memberships are individual and the membership continues with the individual when there is a change in the member's employment status. Membership consists of three classifications, defined in the bylaws. Classes of membership are Client, Agency and Service, with the Service classification not to exceed 20% of the total membership.

Meetings

Meetings are held at the Seattle Yacht Club on the third Tuesday of each month. The annual meeting in September is usually held at a different venue and may occur on a date other than the third Tuesday. Reservations are required for each meeting. If a member is unable to attend a meeting, a substitute may attend in his or her place. Members may also invite guests. Attendance at the annual meeting is restricted to members and their spouse/significant other.

Governance

A Board of Directors, consisting of not more than 15 members, nor fewer than ten members, is the governing body. Board meetings are held prior to each program meeting.

Dues

The Board of Directors determines the annual dues and fees. For 2006, they are as follows:
